CEA is the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission. A public body established in 1945, CEA is a technology research and development provider, whose role is to transfer this know-how to the industry.

INES is the reference center in France, and one of the first in Europe, dedicated to research, innovation and training on solar energy. INES hosts teams from the CEA and the University of Savoie, and is supported by the CNRS and the CSTB. INES currently employs 400 staff, engineers and scientists, on a 22,000-m² site equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

CEA-INES's laboratory involved in InVivo nEXTh deals with PV systems (electrical architecture, conversion and safety), electrical storage (sizing, technology selection and management) as well as the integration of renewables, storage and electric vehicles into smarter grids. Research efforts are made on smartgrids, energy management, demand response and grid coupled storage systems.

Founded at the end of the 1960s, ENIT is the first polytechnical engineering school in Tunisia. The School is organised around 5 departments: civil engineering, electric engineering, industrial engineering, mecanic engineering and TIC. 

Teaching and research activites at ENIT are multidiscplinary, and energy is at the crossroad of the different university's department regarding energy production, storage, management, renewable energy and energy efficiency.. 

With 20 laboratories and research units, ENIT is a leader in research in Tunisia covering most engineering sectors. The school also develops partnerships in international projects and with industrials.

This team is a part of the Renewable Energy Group (GER) which is a department of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Project (PEREE) attached to the Studies and Planning Direction (DEP) of STEG; Tunisian Company of Electricity and Gas, STEG which operates under Tunisia’s Ministry of Industry Energy and Mines is a public power utility in charge of production, transport and distribution of electricity and gas. 

Renewable energy and energy efficiency are areas that are strongly supported by STEG which has successfully implemented a number of renewable energy projects covering both technical studies capital investment projects since 1984. STEG has committed to increase the share of renewable energy to 20% by the year 2020 to reach a more sustainable level of energy growth while meeting growing electricity demand. 

The mission of the Renewable Energy Group is to define the strategic orientations in the field of Renewable Energy and conduct related feasibility studies of Renewable Energies Program, and to achieve this goal the GER develop technical and economic assessment for renewable energy power plants, new and storage technologies; consequently develop technical specifications of renewable power plants ensuring the optimal contribution of Renewable Energy Sources in energetic mix of Tunisia.

TELNET develops innovative ideas to advance on the field of new digital technologies. As a product engineering and a consulting company in both innovation and high technology, TELNET performs its activities in telecommunications & multimedia, transport & automotive, defence & avionics, security & smart Card, industry, electronics & microelectronics, mechanical engineering and information systems. The Industry main projects achieved are related to meters for both domestic and industrial use, sound repeaters and CPL concentrators, and this was done on various platforms of development.

The size of the group and the extent globalization of business, need to standardize and structure the component "Innovation", including through its new subsidiary "TELNET Innovation Labs" to ensure a new appropriate and sustainable development activity closely with existing research skills. The Information Systems activity consists in the development of applications client/server, Internet and Intranet as well as specific software in full life cycle. These developments are carried out on most of the environments existing on the market and with different architectures and languages. The Architects system will manage all actions undertaken by TELNET; collaborate with consortium members as well as the technical supervision of research thesis that will be launched.

CEA LinkLab is a joint laboratory of CEA DRT (Technological Research Division) and the Tunisian group Telnet. Its mission is to organize and to ease the R&D of the CEA institute with the Tunisian scientific ecosystem. Research domains of the lab are Information and Communications Technologies and New Energy Technologies.

The expertise of the LinkLab team’s expertise covers smart grid energy and statistical analysis.

ANME is one of the main institutions responsible for the development of renewable energies in Tunisia. Created in 1985 and placed under the authority of the Ministry of Industry and Energy, this agency is in charge of implementing the energy policy of the State and aims at diversifying energy sources, through the promotion of energy efficiency and the support of renewable energies. In the field of renewable energy, it performs all actions for the development of these energies through the realisation of prospective and strategic studies, the initiation and implementation of projects and development programmes, the proposal of legal and incentive framework, the support for research and development, the information, education and training. ANME is also responsible for managing the Energy Transition Fund, which issues subsidies for investments geared towards promoting renewable energies and the rational use of energy.

The Solar Equipments Development Unit (UDES) was wreated in 2007. It has been integrated to the EPST Renewable Energies Development Center (CDER). The main mission of UDES is to answer to a sustainable energy vision. UDES is composed of two main divisions of research. The first one is named cooling and water treatment systems using Renewable Energies. The research topics of this division concerns the application of solar energy in the field of air-conditioning, conservation by cooling, desalination and purification of water, and the design, sizing, modeling and realisation of prototypes and pilot installations. The second division "Renewable energies" aims at mastering and optimising the solar energy conversion processes and developing the necessary know-how and expertise, starting from the study to the manufacturing of the solar thermal and PV equipement's and the realisation of systems and complex installations.

H-Univ has 20 Faculties, about 100,00 undergraduates, 11000 postgraduates and 4000 staff members. The University has conducted multiple research projects funded nationally and internationally in the field of renewable energy, such as Tempus CERES, MATFP7, Eurosunmed, STSmed ENPI, PV tracking systems RDI, etc. 

The University has many international protocols with international and regional institutes. HU has put at the service of this project 3 PV stations with respectively 600kw, 10Mw and 20kw total powers and contributes to the project tasks by bringing its expertise in micro-grid systems modeling and management.

CIEMAT is a Spanish public research institution under the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness. It has offices in several different regions of Spain, and its activity is structured around projects which form a bridge between R&D&I and social interest goals.The photovoltaic solar energy team of CIEMAT develops its activity in R&D of PV components and systems since 1986. Its activity focuses on testing, characterizing and modelling PV cells, PV modules, PV arrays and other PV components, the design, sizing and optimization of stand-alone PV systems, the engineering, monitoring and evaluation of grid connected PV plants and on the calibration of PV devices and solar radiation sensors.
